80x120ft Test Section  [Tunnel Specifications] The 80-by-120 foot Test Section is the larger part of the closed circuit, single return wind tunnel that makes up the National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex (NFAC). Its size makes it ideal for testing large-or full-scale models and prototypes, including full-scale rotors. It is equipped with a sound absorbent lining installed to create a semi anechoic space for aeroacoustic research studies of aircraft models. The test section's balance system measures the forces for six degrees of freedom.
